Na Gong is a Scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). She earned an MS degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2018 and a PhD from the University of Texas at El Paso, USA in 2020. During her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee, USA from 2020 to 2022, she specialised in advancing rare-earth-doped lightweight alloys. Her expertise lies in materials science and engineering, emphasising a solid foundation in steel and alloy metallurgy and the process-structure-property relationship. Her practical skills encompass materials processing, heat treatment, electron microscopy, mechanical and biological characterisation, metallography techniques and failure analysis.
