Researcher
A National Science Scholarship (NSS-BS/PhD) recipient, Xinglong Zhang is currently a Senior Scientist at A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC). Before joining IHPC, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), US. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Oxford in 2019 working on computational studies of organic and organometallic catalysis. His research interests include computational mechanistic studies of homogenous catalysis in transition metal catalysed C–H functionalisation, organocatalysis and asymmetric catalysis. He is also currently involved in automation tools development and applying machine learning derived interatomic potentials to address longstanding topics in homogenous catalysis such as dynamical and entropic effects.
