Yann Barrandon is a dermatologist and a visiting scientist at A*STAR’s Skin Research Institute Singapore (SRIS) and a Senior Principal Investigator at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He is also the Lee Seng Teik and Lee Hoo Leng Distinguished Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School. He has extensive expertise in regenerative medicine and gene therapy of the skin, and has participated in the first transplantations of autologous cultured epidermal stem cells on severely burned children in Boston. He has also contributed to establish the stem cell transplantation technology to the burn center at SGH. He has also been involved in several projects for the development of innovative tools and devices for biomedical research.
