Researcher
Ajay S Mathuru received his Bachelor’s degree from Osmania University and his Master’s degree from the University of Hyderabad, both in India. He completed his PhD degree in neuroscience at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, India, under the supervision of Upi Bhalla. In 2006, he moved to Singapore to join Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL). He is currently a Joint Principal Investigator at A*STAR’s Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) and Yale-NUS College, where he studies the neural, genetic, and molecular mechanisms underlying animal behavior. Mathuru performs precise genetic manipulations and optical imaging of neural activity at a high resolution, using zebrafish as a model organism.
