Alvin Surya Tjahyo
Alvin Surya Tjahyo was formerly a Senior Research Officer, Clinician Scientist and Joint Medical Director at the A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (A*STAR SIFBI), where he worked at the intersection of food science, nutrition and health. His research focused on how dietary patterns and nutritional intake influence human physiology and long-term health outcomes, with an emphasis on translating scientific insights into practical strategies that promote healthier eating and inform public health policy.
Tjahyo holds a BSc in Life Sciences from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Master of Dietetics from Monash University, Australia. He is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and a member of Dietitians Australia (DA), with experience spanning clinical dietetics, public health nutrition and research. At A*STAR SIFBI, Tjahyo contributed to multidisciplinary projects aimed at advancing food innovation, improving nutrition and tackling health challenges in Singapore and the wider Asian region.
