Researcher
Bala Davient earned his PhD in Medical Microbiology from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2022. He is currently a Computational Microbiologist at the A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*STAR SRL). His research explores how microbial metabolites and communication networks influence host–microbe and microbe–microbe interactions, with a focus on improving human and animal skin health. As a Scientist, he combines experimental studies with computational modelling and simulation to uncover the mechanisms shaping host–microbiome and intra-microbiome dynamics. His goal is to identify metabolic pathways and signalling networks that can be targeted to develop microbiome-based therapeutics for ageing and diseased skin.
