Hong Liu
Principal Scientist and Group Leader, Intelligent Nano-Optics
A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (A*STAR IMRE)Hong Liu joined the A*STAR Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (A*STAR IMRE) in 2003 and has been leading the institute’s Intelligent Nano-optics (INO) Group since 2020. The INO Group is primarily dedicated to the study of the fundamental light-matter interactions at the subwavelength scale and potential applications such as next-generation neuromorphic photonics, quantum light sources and flat optical components. Leveraging A*STAR IMRE’s well-established capabilities of design, simulation, nanofabrication and state-of-the-art characterisation, the INO Group has investigated the interactions of optical resonators with light to realise extreme control and manipulation of light’s properties at the nanoscale. Liu holds an adjunct appointment as Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the National University of Singapore.
