Jay W. Shin

A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR GIS)Jay W. Shin is Assistant Director and Senior Principal Scientist at the A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR GIS). He obtained his PhD degree from ETH Zürich, Switzerland, in 2008, following research training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, US. Before joining A*STAR GIS in 2022, he spent 13 years at RIKEN in Yokohama, Japan.
Shin is a National Research Foundation Investigator and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore. He also co-leads the FANTOM6 consortium and serves on the Organising Committee of the Human Cell Atlas. His research interests span single-cell and spatial genomics, regulatory genomics, non-coding RNAs and gene regulation.
