Jeremy Wong is a Senior Scientist at A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) in Singapore, where he currently researches automatic speech recognition, automatic spoken language assessment and automatic spoken medical diagnostics. With a strong background in electrical engineering and physics from the University of New South Wales, and a PhD in speech recognition from the University of Cambridge, Wong has focused his postdoctoral career on advancing the field of speech technology. At Microsoft, he worked on end-to-end models for speech recognition and speaker diarisation. His current interests include exploring innovative approaches in speech foundation models, improving the accuracy of spoken language assessments through confidence estimation and enhancing in-context learning applications. His work aims to bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical, real-world applications in speech and language processing.
