Researcher
Larry Loo is a Scientist at the A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR GIS). Prior to this, he was with the A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (A*STAR SIFBI), where he worked at the intersection of gene editing, protein engineering and alternative proteins. He has published more than 10 papers in stem cell biology and alternative proteins, and has secured over S$1.39 million in competitive research funding from A*STAR, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), and the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).
Loo previously served as a scientific advisor to Ants Innovate, an A*STAR spinoff company. He is currently a STAR ambassador and an adjunct faculty member at the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Institute of Technology, where he enjoys mentoring the next generation of scientists.
