A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (A*STAR SIFBI)Melvin Leow is a Senior Principal Investigator and Deputy HOD at the Nutrition & Digestive Health Division, A*STAR SIFBI. He leads a research group studying energy homeostasis and human metabolic physiology. Leow holds a joint appointment as Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and adjunct professorships at the National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Medical School. He serves as a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and has over 210 publications in international refereed journals, making notable contributions to the field of thyroid axis homeostasis. His current research centres on brown adipose tissue, thermogenesis and the browning of white adipocytes, with a focus on non-invasive imaging and nutritional activation strategies.
