Sudhaharan Thankiah joined the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), A*STAR, in 2003, applying his expertise in fluorescence resonance energy transfer to understand the structure of the epidermal growth factor receptor, a cancer marker found in abundance on the surface of cancer cells. In 2005 he moved to Sohail Ahmed’s group at A*STAR’s Institute of Medical Biology (IMB) where he researched signaling cascades in cell biology and protein-protein interactions within filopodia. Currently, he is an Advanced Microscopy Expert at the A*STAR Microscopy Platform, an open core technology platform providing light and electron microscopy infrastructure and expertise to meet the needs of Singapore’s biomedical research community, housed within the Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS).
