Sumanto Haldar
Sumanto Haldar is a lecturer in nutritional sciences at Bournemouth University, UK, and was previously a Principal Investigator and Junior Group Leader at the A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (A*STAR SIFBI). His work centres on how foods and food components influence chronic disease risk, particularly cardiometabolic diseases. With extensive experience in the UK and Singapore, he has led numerous acute and long-term clinical nutrition trials.
Sumanto is an alumnus of the European Nutrition Leadership Programme (ENLP), founding joint-secretary of the ASEAN Nutrition and Food Science Network (ANFSN), a member of the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), and a life-member of the Nutrition Society of India (NSI). He also serves on the scientific committees of Ripen and iNutrilife, which are two UK Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)-funded Diet and Health Open Innovation Research Club (OIRC) hubs.
