Sze Ying Lee is a Scientist at the A*STAR Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (A*STAR SIFBI). She is a chartered member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and a chartered engineer registered by the Engineering Council UK. She studied novel solvents and the development of biotechnological separation processes during her PhD. She now continues her research in improving bioprocesses and downstream processing of bio-based products for food, nutrition and well-being. She is also interested in the development of biorefinery concept associated to agri-food side streams and the upcycling of wastewater for resource recovery to further the circular bioeconomy.
