Wei-Jun Jean Yeung is the Director of Social Sciences at the A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP), and Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). In addition, she is the Principal Investigator of the Singapore Longitudinal Early Development Study (SG-LEADS), the inaugural President of the Population Association of Singapore, and the founding Director of the Center for Family and Population Research at NUS. Previously, she was a Provost-Chair Professor in the NUS Department of Sociology from 2008-2023.

Yeung is a leading expert in social demography, family studies, population health and social stratification. She has received many prestigious awards and led national surveys on family and children’s well-being in countries including the US, China and Singapore. She also has published extensively in leading journals, is cited widely in academic publications and high-impact global media, and has served on the editorial boards of many leading international journals.
