Xin Quan Zhang has 10 years experience in ultra-precision diamond machining of optical inserts and roller molds. He is particularly skilled in the following areas: process development for ultra-precision machining, especially for complex structure generation; machining of free-form or non-symmetrical lens/inserts using Fast Tool Servo(FTS)/Slow Slide Servo(SSS); diamond turning of contact lens; ultrasonic vibration-assisted machining of difficult-to-cut materials, like steel, ceramics; and novel fixture design/invention.
