Xu Li is a Senior Scientist at A*STAR’s Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), where he leads a research team dedicated to studying hybrid polymer materials for various applications, including coating and packaging, healthcare and energy storage. The main research focus of his team is the design and synthesis of high performance polymer materials and inorganic fillers and incorporating functional fillers into polymer materials with controlled filler distribution and tuned interlayer bonding between the filler and polymer matrix. Li is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, where he supervises graduate students in studies on the performance of hybrid polymers for food packaging applications.
